Hello Franconia Families

Welcome to Volume 3 of the Falcon Flyer! Today is an important day—it’s the final day to place your Hoagie Sale orders. Don’t miss your chance to stock up for game day or grab a coupon to use later. Every order helps support our students and school programs.

As always, this newsletter is here to keep you in the loop with upcoming events, fundraisers, and ways to get involved. Thank you for being part of our community—we couldn’t do it without you!

Counselor Corner

Meet Your School Counselor

Hello! My name is Mrs. Croak and I am so excited to be your child’s school counselor! This is my second year at Franconia - it is a great place to be! I am passionate about helping students and look forward to getting to know your child this year!

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL COUNSELORS...

Teach classroom lessons to all students
Run group counseling activities to support student growth
Provide brief solution focused counseling to support academic, social/emotional success
Collaborate with school staff, families, and community agencies to support students

HANDLE WITH CARE

If your family is experiencing difficulties at home, I would like to provide additional support at school. I understand that you may not always be able to share details and that’s ok. If your child is coming to school after a difficult night, morning or weekend, please email me “handle with care”. I will make it a priority to check in on them throughout the day.

Mrs. Alexis Thomas - Franconia's Cafeteria Manager

This is my first year as Franconia's cafeteria manager. I have spent 4 years filling in around the district. It is my desire to support students by providing nutritious meals, creating a positive atmosphere in our cafe and offering a smiling face. My children attend Salford Hills Elementary, so I want your child to have the same positive experience that my children have.

How can parents help support?

Making sure allergy lists are up to date with the nurse. Help your child learn their ID number.

Falcon Fun Run

The Falcon Fun Run is our big fall fundraiser—and it’s officially live! This 100% school-wide event gets kids moving while raising funds that support the programs kids love and teachers count on.

The Falcon Fun Run is coming up on Friday, October 10th, and we need YOUR help to make it a success! 🎉

We’re looking for volunteers to help with:

🎃 Calling All Trunks! 🚗🍬

We’re gearing up for our Trunk or Treat and we need YOUR creativity to make it a spook-tacular success! Families will walk from trunk to trunk collecting candy and enjoying all the decorated themes—and we can’t do it without you.

Bring your car, decorate it in a fun or spooky theme, and hand out treats to our little ghosts and goblins. It’s a fun way to get involved, show off your creativity, and be part of a memory-making night for our kids.

👻 Treat Donations Needed! 🍬🎃

To make our Trunk or Treat a spooky success, we’re asking each family to donate one bag of candy (or more!) or a non-food Halloween treat (think pencils, stickers, fidgets, etc.) for the event.

🗓️ Please send in all donations by October 22.

💲 Cash donations are also welcome via Venmo: @franconiahomeandschool
(we’ll use them to purchase extra treats).

The Nurse’s Office is in need of the following items:

New girls’ underwear (all sizes)

Elastic waist pants for boys and girls (all sizes)

If you are able to donate, please drop items off at the school office. These supplies help us care for students and keep them comfortable throughout the school day.
